Colouring wood is a real choice when you love this natural material. However, for this finish, we've chosen blood red to create a strong alliance with the intense black of the thousand-year-old morta.
MORTA :
Morta or marsh oak is an exceptional wood. Having fallen naturally into the marshes several thousand years ago, the peat bogs have preserved it from the ravages of time. Its black colour is the result of a chemical reaction between the tannin in the wood and the iron oxide found naturally in the earth's soil. Now rot-resistant, black morta can resemble ebony.

COLORED SYCAMORE MAPLE:
L’érable sycomore ondé est un bois noble au grain fin, sans veinure. Sa couleur claire rayonnante est parsemée d’ondes linéaires qui donnent au bois un aspect soyeux. Il est utilisé notamment en ébénisterie et en lutherie pour le dos, les éclisses et le manche des violons. L’érable sycomore ondé est ici coloré d’une teinte naturelle rouge. Sa couleur originelle permet d’obtenir le contraste recherché avec la noirceur du bois de morta.
